2016 Annual Convention

NCTE Annual ConventionFaces of Advocacy
Atlanta, Georgia - November 17-20, 2016

When we hear the word "advocacy" in connection to our profession, every one of us—teachers, instructors, professors, researchers, writers—has a different definition of what that means. What have been your experiences in the areas of advocacy? How can NCTE help you further these goals and ambitions? How can we create a movement around these areas and become part of the national conversation about our profession? This is what we want to hear about at the 2016 Annual Convention.

Deadline for all submissions: 11:59 p.m. PST, January 13, 2016

2016 African American Read-In

AARI Banner

During the month of February, schools, churches, libraries, bookstores, community and professional organizations, and interested citizens are urged to make literacy a significant part of Black History Month by hosting an African American Read-In.

Hosting an event can be as simple as bringing together friends to share a book, or as elaborate as arranging public readings and media presentations that feature professional African American writers.

Check out our new African American Readin-In Toolkit!
