Nikki Grimes

 

Nikki Grimes is the 14th winner of the NCTE Award for Excellence in Poetry for Children. 

Nikki Grimes
Nikki was born and raised in New York City.  She began composing verse at the age of six and has been writing ever since. From her website, read "Historically Speaking," where she shares more about her life.

Nikki was honored at the Books for Children Luncheon and at Poetry Session A.05 during the NCTE Annual Convention in Nashville, Tennessee.
