National Day on Writing!

Twitter Chat

Join NCTE on Sunday, October 20, at 8 p.m. ET, for a Twitter Chat (#nctechat) celebrating the National Day on Writing!

For this year’s theme -- write2connect -- NCTE joins the New York Times Learning Network, the National Writing Project and NWP's Educator Innovator, National Novel Writing Month, and Mozilla HIVE to encourage all who write to talk about the ways they use writing to connect -- between subject areas, with other people, with organizations and opportunities, and more.

TwitterOn October 21, tweet out the way you use writing to make connections and post them to Twitter using the hashtag #write2connect and, if space allows, #dayonwriting. Our goals are to share your thoughts publicly while we get #write2connect as a trending topic on Twitter this year, just as #WhatIWrite was a trending topic last year and #WhyIWrite was a trending topic the year before!

The National Day on Writing falls on a Sunday this year so please hold your community and school celebrations when it's convenient for you. And please do Tweet #write2connect on October 20-21!

Let us know what you're doing this year to celebrate the National Day on Writing!
