Recognizing the importance of writing for all students and that teachers and students love to share their stories, NCTE celebrated its first National Day on Writing and unveiled its National Gallery of Writing on October 20, 2009.
Since that day more than 30,000 pieces of writing, including poems, videos, essays, letters, audio recordings, blog entries, artwork, email and text messages, and short stories, have been submitted.
