Reba Wadsworth

Reba WadsworthReba works with classroom teachers, reading coaches, librarians, and administrators pre-K-5 grade who want to delve deeper into developing schools and classrooms that provide children a language-rich learning environment with a focus on supporting children as they develop into readers and writers. She has provided workshops and in-services for teachers on developing and implementing writing workshop, providing a balanced reading program, developing classroom libraries, developmentally appropriate assessments, and selecting read alouds for all ages during the elementary years. Her work is centered on the belief that children must read and write everyday in authentic ways that value the background of knowledge that each child brings to school. She supports her practices with the use of outstanding picture books that can be used in all areas of the classroom from building community to building background knowledge for all content areas.
