Maria has been an educator for over 20 years and has experience teaching at the middle school, high school and university levels. Currently professor in the Department of Secondary Educaton at California State University, Fullerson, Maria specializes in content literacy and formative assessment. Her experience includes several years working as a coach, professional developer, and consultant for schools throughout the country. Maria has authored numerous publications, including articles in Educational Leadership and the Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy.
