Professional Learning Services - Previous Revision

The NCTE Consulting Network is one of many professional development opportunities offered by NCTE.  Other options include the Pathways ProgramWeb Seminars and Resource Kits.  Based on the NCTE Guideline, Principles of  Professional Development, all of these work together to provide the tools, resources, and support that teachers need to make a positive impact on student learning.

School in the Spotlight

Whittier Elementary School, Chicago, Illinois invited NCTE consultant, Barbara Flores, to spend two days in the school doing observations, modeling, and teacher workshops with the K-5 teachers.  "She was great!" commented the Reading First Lead Literacy Coordinator.  Barbara spent her time improving the teaching of reading in Spanish.
