About the College Section

The College Section of NCTE addresses the needs of college English teachers:  we are teachers of composition and literature, of language and pop culture, of methods and mythology, we are instructors who teach it all--especially to undergraduates.  We prepare future faculty and teachers for careers in education.  We are teachers who theorize and scholars who like to teach.  We are interested in the multiple uses of new technologies in writing, reading, and teaching and the role these technologies play in classrooms and communities. We help students read and write and analyze and interpret and critique.  We bring students to active learning in the midst of a changing professoriate--working conditions, all encompassing changing demands on our time, our energy, or professionalism, and our day-to-day lives.
