The College Section of NCTE supports the exploration of English Studies in a variety of collegiate settings that include higher education institutions and early colleges.
The College Section of NCTE addresses the interests and needs of college-level English teachers. We are instructors of composition, communication, and literature; cultural, digital, gender and sexuality, and language studies; pedagogy, methods, and mythology.
We are educators who teach English, composition, and literacy studies across the disciplines in colleges and universities, especially to undergraduate students.
We are interested in the digital technologies in writing, reading, and teaching and the role these technologies in classrooms and communities.
We help students with the application of all the elements of literacy: critiquing, evaluating, interpreting, listening, observing, performing, questioning, reading, speaking, thinking, viewing, and writing.
We inspire students toward deep learning and critical thinking as readers, writers, and researchers.
We are committed to the advancement of English Studies, composition and communication, disciplinary literacies, and language arts in our profession and lives.
