Jeff Anderson

Jeff Anderson has taught writing and reading for over 18 years. His passion is motivating and developing struggling writers with instructional strategies such as writer’s workshop and process writing, with an interest in making editing and grammar in context a meaning-making experience. He has published a book, Mechanically Inclined: Building Grammar, Usage, and Style into Writer's Workshop, and a DVD filmed in his inner-city classroom, The Craft of Grammar.

Amy BenjaminAmy Benjamin has extensive experience working with teachers to improve their understanding of grammar instruction.  She is president of the NCTE Assembly for the Teaching of English Grammar and co-authored the Assembly's book Grammar Alive!: A Guide for Teachers (NCTE, 2003).

 

Deborah Dean currently teaches composition and English education at the university level. Formerly a junior high and high school teacher, her workshops and presentations focus on strategic writing instruction, integrating grammar, using picture books to teach writing, and incorporating inquiry into the writing process.

 

Cathy Greenwood loves to see young writers in print, and as a published writer, teacher, and veteran presenter at professional conferences, she provides inspiration to middle and high school teachers. Cathy is an award winning writer and is available for workshops on teaching grammar within the context of writing.

 

Harry Noden has 30 years of experience as an English educator and is author of Image Grammar: Using Grammatical Structures to Teach Writing.  He presents on the relationship between grammar and writing for middle, secondary, and college audiences.

 


Rebecca WheelerRebecca Wheeler is a dynamic presenter in the K–12 grades if your urban teachers want to know how to help minority students master Standard English.
