This year marks the anniversary of my 30 years of teaching. Looking back from my teaching history, it seems I was a more (blindly) confident instructor 20 years ago than now. In the past 20 years, with study of pedagogy centering my career, I have found teaching every class is a new experience. It involves learning, constantly learning new knowledge (new literacy), learning from students who bring much to the classroom, and learning how to teach. Teaching to me at the beginning was to move information from books to students, but now it is a transformation process, through which my students and I both grow together into richer, more caring and more open minded learners. Teaching enables me to remain a lifelong student. Now in my teaching, instead of making sure my students get the information, I work hard to cultivate in them a passion for learning.
