Did you know that NCTE's founder and first Executive Director (then termed Secretary Treasurer) later founded a second significant professional organization? NCTE's founder was James Fleming Hosic, and he went on to establish the organization which is today ASCD, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
First Headquarters
Did you know that the original headquarters of NCTE was a desk drawer? That drawer was in the Chicago Teachers College office of NCTE founder and first Executive Director James Fleming Hosic.
