Meet for introductions and discussion of the briefing notebooks and draft belief statements to explore consensus and controversy.  Revise as you go to continue "framing" the knowledge/belief statement drafts in ways that will be accessible beyond the English education community.  One or more group members take careful notes throughout the Summit.

Group 4: What do we know and believe about multi-modal literacies and digital technologies in English education?

Group 5: How might we more meaningfully assess the effectiveness of English education programs?

Group 6: How can CEE help its constituencies, the broader public, and policymakers understand the relationship between research and teaching?

Before leaving the CEE Leadership and Policy Summit, Thematic Strand Groups submit to Suzanne Miller and Dana Fox the following:  (1) your group's knowledge/belief statement document (hard copy and disk copy); (2) complete reference list from your briefing notebook (hard copy and disk copy); (3) a plan with timeline for a White Paper to be completed after the Summit; and (4) plans for any other genres your group may have developed.
