Beginning Composition and Rhetoric Faculty Guidelines

In an effort to provide guidance new and prospective faculty, this position statement outlines what candidates should find out regarding the terms of employment; reappointment, promotions, and tenure; and professionalism and collegiality at prospective schools and the written records that should exist on such matters. Furthermore, the statement urges administrators to assume responsibility for helping faculty members obtain information about their positions and encourage open communication about expectations.
