Welcome to NCTE's Book Publishing Program - Previous Revision

Teaching Julius CaesarFor over seventy-five years, the NCTE Books Program has published resources for teachers' professional development at every level, elementary through college.

NCTE books focus on current issues and problems in teaching, research findings and their application to classrooms, ideas for teaching all aspects of English, and other topics.

The complete list features over 300 titles, so you're sure to find a professional resource that will enrich your teaching. Browse our online store or flip through our interactive catalog  (fax: 217-328-9645).

NCTE members get a discount of up to 30% off the nonmember prices. Not yet a member? Learn how to join NCTE.

Series

We publish several popular book series, including the Principles in Practice imprint, the NCTE-Routledge Research Series, the NCTE High School Literature Series, and the Theory and Research Into Practice (TRIP) series.

College Credit for Writing in High School

Although we're proud of our publications, we are not a vanity press. All projects undergo rigorous peer review by experts in the field. We don't typically publish anthologies or single-authored works of creative writing, personal journals, student writing, or dissertations not revised for book publication.

NOTE: The NCTE Books Program is not currently accepting unsolicited proposals.
