Achievement Awards in Writing
This school-based writing program encourages and publicly recognizes some of the best 11th grade student writers in the nation.
Donald H. Graves Writing Award for Excellence in the Teaching of Writing
Recognizes teachers in grades K-6 who, through the teaching of writing, demonstrate an understanding of student improvement in writing. Deadline June 15
Norman Mailer Student Writing Awards
Recognizes nonfiction and poetry writing of high school and college students. Deadline April 30
Norman Mailer Writing Award for Teachers
Recognizes writing from full- and part-time middle and high school teachers. Deadline July 23
Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines
This program for middle schools, junior high, and high schools recognizes students, teachers, and schools for producing excellent literary magazines and encourages all schools to develop literary magazines, seeking excellence in writing and school-wide participation in production.
Promising Young Writers
This school-based writing program stimulates and recognizes student's writing talents and emphasizes the importance of writing skills among eighth-grade students.
