Promising Young Writers (for 8th grade students)
This school-based writing program stimulates and recognizes student's writing talents and emphasizes the importance of writing skills among eighth-grade students. Entries accepted November 30, 2012 to February 13, 2013, Noon CST.

This school-based writing program encourages high school students in their writing and recognizes publicly some of the best student writers in the nation. Entries accepted November 30, 2012 to February 13, 2013, Noon CST.
Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines
This program for middle schools, junior high, and high schools recognizes students, teachers, and schools for producing excellent literary magazines. It provides encouragement for all schools to develop literary magazines with excellence in writing and school-wide participation.
2012 Muhammad Ali Award for Writing on Ethics
This award is open to full time students enrolled in four-year colleges, two-year colleges, junior colleges, and technical colleges.
NCTE/Norman Mailer Writing Awards
The Norman Mailer Writers Colony and the National Council of Teachers of English jointly sponsor the 2012 Norman Mailer High School and College Writing Awards.
