Leadership

The Executive Committee is charged with long-term planning and deliberative decision making for NCTE.

About

Members are elected to the NCTE Executive Committee each spring. Leaders of the presidential team serve a four year term while all other roles on the Executive Committee serve two year terms.

The job of the Executive Committee is to:

  • establish priorities and direction for the Council
  • make policy
  • provide administrative oversight
  • model leadership practices that are consistent with our mission and values

A full description of the roles and responsibilities of the Executive Committee can be found in NCTE’s Constitution.

NCTE’s Executive Director is Emily Kirkpatrick. Under her leadership, staff execute the policies and develop programs, strategies, and ongoing partnerships corresponding to the vision and priorities set by the Executive Committee.
