Join us for the Day of Whole Language, hosted by the Whole Language Umbrella (WLU), featuring a strand of sessions focused on whole language theory and practice. The day begins with Telling A Story, Taking a Stance, Creating A World! with educators from Arizona’s Zaharis Elementary describing the essential role of story in developing a school culture.
The Day of Early Childhood: 8:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. is hosted by the Early Childhood Education Assembly (ECEA). These strand of sessions is specifically designated and devoted to issues of teaching and learning of young children in preschool and early elementary.

Join the 2013 Orbis Pictus Award celebrations before and after the luncheon with a discussion of the winning nonfiction titles in Session G.28, and meet the authors of the winning nonfiction titles in Session K.56.
Come meet the Elementary Steering Committee members as they present Session K.16 "Fresh Ideas from the Elementary Section Steering Committee" on their favorite teaching ideas and resources.
Highlights include the Children’s Literature Assembly Breakfast (CLA) featuring Nic Bisohp and Sy Montgomery and Session N.12 featuring the "2013 Notable Children's Books in Language Arts."
The CLA also sponsors Workshop W.12, "By Land, Air or Sea: Border Crossing Experiences In Literacy Conversations" on Monday.
