College program sessions reflect the wide range of interests and needs of four-year and two-year college educators. Whether this is your first time or your 20th, a pre-service or veteran teacher, a researcher or a professor, there are sessions, speakers, and special events that will be of interest to you!

Thursday, 11/21

Kick off the convention with these preconference sessions then join us at the Thursday General Session. with featured speaker Tony Danza


Friday, 11/22

Are you a first time attendee? Then start the morning out at the First-Timer's Breakfast, "Mentoring Matters," from 7:00-8:00 a.m. sponsored by Random House Teacher Award for Literacy with presentation by Tony Danza. Get some tips on making the most of your convention experience, and find out who the award winners are.

Don't miss the Friday General Session.

Join us for the College Celebration and Reception from 7:00-9:00 p.m. with speaker Carolyn Calhoon-Dillahunt.  We will also honor the winners of the Richard Ohmann Award for an Outstanding Article in College English and the David H. Russell Award for Distinguished Research in the Teaching of English.


Saturday, 11/23

Make plans to attend the College Section/CCCC Luncheon at 12:30 p.m. to hear featured speaker Steven Pinker.  


Sunday, 11/24

Sandy Hayes

Come listen to NCTE President, Sandy Hayes, as she gives her presidential address at the Sunday General Session.
