Thank You for Sending Nearly 2,000 Letters to Your Members of Congress to Support NCTE’s National Day on Writing!
Now it's time to ask your Representative in the House to support the resolution declaring October 20, 2009, as the National Day on Writing!

During NCTE's Literacy Education Advocacy Day, Representative Dina Titus of Nevada presented us with a copy of the resolution she and Lead Cosponsor Representative Todd Russell Platts had just the day before sent to their colleagues in the House. Participants in Advocacy Day took that resolution to their meetings with their Representatives or their staff. As of May 7, the following Representatives have signed on as original cosponsors of the resolution:
California: Barbara Lee, Lois Capps
Florida: Alan Grayson
Georgia: Sanford Bishop, John Lewis
Hawaii: Mazie Hirono
Kansas: Dennis Moore
Kentucky: John Yarmuth
