African American Read-In

On behalf of the Black Caucus of NCTE and the National Council of Teachers of English, we thank you for your participation in the 2009 African American Read-In. We are particularly proud of all the students who took part in reading and listening to works by Black authors.

A list has been compiled, from returned Host Report Cards, of those who participated this year. It will be updated as more Report Cards are returned.

Prepare your computer first and then click here to watch the presentation.  The full text of Dope Sick is available until February 24th from the website.  Please e-mail NCTE any comments or questions about the Web seminar.

Visit our line-up of web seminars to find affordable professional development from some of the leading experts in the field.

Have you held a Read-In? If so, let us know about it.  Send a brief description of how you proceeded from start to finish and what your experience was like. Other participants might find it of interest and it might get others to host their own Read-In. You can also send us articles from newspapers, school notices, church flyers or any other information pertaining to your Read-In. If you send photographs, please send along written permission for use. Send all materials to Linda Walters at NCTE Headquarters.
