98th Annual National Council of Teachers of English
Convention-at-a-Glance

What: The 98th Annual Convention of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) in San Antonio, Texas. On the agenda for the Convention are hundreds of concurrent sessions and workshops focusing on all aspects of the teaching and learning of the English language arts. The theme for this year’s Convention is “Because Shift Happens: Teaching in the Twenty-First Century.”

When: Thursday, November 20 - Sunday, November 23, 2008

Where: San Antonio with sessions and workshops being held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and Marriot River Center Hotel.

Attendees: More than 7,000 English language arts teachers (kindergarten through university) from across the country and the world, as well as librarians, reading specialists, administrators, consultants, and students studying to be teachers.
