Book Editor

We are seeking an experienced individual to assume the position of Book Editor.  The Book Editor provides editorial services for professional/scholarly books.  Responsibilities include: monitoring budgets, fostering positive relationships between authors and NCTE, working with external vendors to complete books on schedule, preparing manuscripts for typesetting, performing copyediting, and obtaining necessary permissions.

The successful applicant will possess a bachelor’s degree in English or related field; two years experience in editing and production, preferably with books; knowledge of all phases of the editing and production process; excellent command of English; awareness of audience and style; familiarity with word processing software and online editing; and the ability to travel.
