- Federal Resources for Educational Excellence (FREE). More than 30 Federal agencies formed a working group in 1997 to make hundreds of Federally supported teaching and learning resources easier to find. Follow these links to find the latest updates on language arts, educational technology, and more!
- Speaking of old computers, TechSoup shares an article that addresses the cost of upgrading those old pieces of equipment to make them usable. Find out how. This resource also provides a variety of links that tells you what to look for in refurbished equipment, how to use assessment worksheets, how to prepare tax receipt letters, and more.
- TechSoup.org, the technology Web site for nonprofits, has even more available for nonprofits in their newly launched DiscounTech, an online technology store. DiscounTech was created in collaboration with leading technology providers to deliver technology products and services the way nonprofits need them: affordably and easily.
- How does tuition-free computer and IT training sound? In an effort to help the Nation's teachers and others in education become computer-literate, the nonprofit National Education Foundation Cyberlearning, with the support of Microsoft and other corporate funders, is offering the first 5,000 applicants full tuition scholarship of $2,000 to take any or all of the 400+ Internet-based online personal computing and computer professional courses.
- The SMARTER Kids Foundation offers a series of grants that permit greater affordability of some of their technology products for the classroom. Explore their grant sites for SMARTer Kids grants, SMART Roomware, PREP grants, and SMARTer Biz Kids grants.
