Research Foundation Grant Programs
A brief description of the funding programs available through the NCTE Research Foundation.
NEH Summer Stipend Awards
Summer stipends support individuals pursuing advanced research that contributes to scholarly knowledge or to the public's understanding of the humanities. Recipients usually produce scholarly articles, monographs on specialized subjects, books on broad topics, archaeological site reports, translations, editions, or other scholarly tools.
Online applications accepted between August 1, 2008 and October 1, 2008
Books for Children
The Libri Foundation is a nationwide nonprofit organization that donates new, high-quality, hardcover children's books to small, rural public libraries in the United States through its Books for Children program.
Education and Literacy Grants
The Entergy Charitable Foundation is dedicated to creating and sustaining thriving communities where Entergy employees live and work. To do this, Entergy funds programs that aim to eliminate illiteracy by providing reading and writing skills.
RGK Foundation Grants
The RGK Foundation awards grants in the broad areas of education, community, and medicine or health. The foundation's primary interests within education include programs that focus on formal K-12 education (particularly mathematics, science, and reading or literacy), after-school tutoring and enrichment, integrating technology into the curriculum, teacher development, and higher education.
Sprint Foundation Grants
The Sprint Foundation supports educational projects that foster school reform through the use of new technologies and through fresh approaches to the enhancement of teachers' skills.
Texas Instruments Foundation Grants
TI understands how important quality education is to prepare our children for the future. We take an innovative approach to building excellence through creative partnerships and dedicated grants. (Follow links in left-hand margin at Web site.)
William and Flora Hewlett Foundation Education Grants
The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation seeks to achieve greater quality and equality of educational opportunity in the United States and throughout the world through grants that support increased student achievement, improved access to exemplary educational content, and other goals as outlined on its web site.
NCTE Announces Small Meetings Fund
In an effort to increase the opportunities for professional development, NCTE will bi-annually review requests for small meeting fund allocations with a maximum total of $10,000 to be awarded in a fiscal year.
Edwyna Wheadon Postgraduate Training Scholarship Fund
Edwyna Wheadon Postgraduate Training Scholarship funds will provide funding for professional development experiences for English/Language Arts teachers in public educational institutions. The purpose of the scholarship is to support postgraduate training to enhance teaching skills and/or career development in teaching.
