Task Force On Council History And 2011
Function: to craft policy designed to the archives of NCTE and its constituent units and to ensure that these archives are publicly accessible; to plan and prepare events/materials to commemorate NCTE's centennial (2011). Among the kinds of activities in which task force members will engage are the following: crafting of archive policy, making recommendations for appropriate storage of archives; pursuing grants to support archive work; pursuing grants for an updated NCTE/literacy education history; planning and making recommendations for centennial activities, publications, public relations, etc.

- Meeting of Task Force members at NCTE Fall Convention
- Moment of History at Board of Directors Meeting, NCTE Fall Convention
- Submission of Task Force Update Report to Executive Director, NCTE, for review of activities, timeline, and projected budget
- Correspondence between chair and Executive Director, NCTE, and Nancy Wilson, NCTE
- Approval and plans for chair of Task Force to work with NCTE (on sabbatical from university) from January through August 2008
