Development of Short Documents

Sometimes an NCTE subgroup seeks to make its ideas known through materials shorter than a book--e.g., a journal article, brochure, or position statement.  Such materials must undergo editorial review as outlined in Appendix F, "Short Document Review Process."

Alternatively, shorter materials (especially, articles or materials transmitted electronically to various populations) can be disseminated if a clear disclaimer is attached, e.g., "These materials represent the current thinking of the [name of committee] but are not an official statement of the group or the National Council of Teachers of English."
