Surveys and Questionnaires
Occasionally, a committee needs to gather data through a questionnaire or other survey instrument, either for its own information or in connection with an anticipated publication. Under Council policy, a proposal for a survey must be submitted to the Executive Committee through the committee's liaison officer. If in the opinion of the Executive Committee the survey merits further consideration, the proposal is forwarded to the Standing Committee on Research for review and recommendations on technical grounds. Acceptable proposals are sometimes forwarded to the Trustees of the Research Foundation for funding consideration. The entire process may take weeks (or months when funds are sought from the Research Foundation), and chairs should allow sufficient time for this review. |
