NCTE/TESOL Committee
Charge: To encourage interchange among teachers of the English language arts at all levels on issues of bilingual education and English as a second language; to promote interaction among the affiliates of TESOL and NCTE and among appropriate teachers in local school districts; to inform administrators and other support personnel of important issues of ESL; to propose programs for the conventions of TESOL, NCTE, and other appropriate organizations; to encourage publication of articles on mutual concerns; to work cooperatively in encouraging licensure and certification for teachers specializing in bilingual education and English as a second language.
