Support for the Learning and Teaching of English (SLATE)
SLATE seeks to influence public attitudes and policy decisions affecting the teaching of English language arts at local, state, and national levels; to implement and publicize the policies adopted by NCTE; and serves as NCTE’s intellectual freedom network.
James R. Squire Office of Policy Research in the English Language Arts
James R. Squire, who served in the Executive Director role for NCTE from 1960 to 1967, passed away on June 8, 2003. Jim has left a remarkable legacy to NCTE and the English language arts profession. We mourn his passing and celebrate his lifetime of achievement.
NCTE Fund for Special Iniatives
This campaign represents a continuation of the Fund established in the early 1970s.
Century Club
In anticipation of the 100th anniversary of NCTE, a new giving category has been established. Contributions from members of the Century Club will be used to underwrite new initiatives.
