Why is My Support Important?

Much of the depth and breadth of what NCTE offers its members and the public is drawn heavily from dues support.  In a continuing attempt to offer membership rates that are reasonable, NCTE relies on private support from members (past and present), friends, corporations, and foundations to support its many worthwhile endeavors.

Through such support, NCTE:

  • Seeks to improve the teaching of English and the English language arts at all levels of education;

  • Supplies a forum for the profession;
  • Provides an array of opportunities for teachers to continue their professional growth throughout their careers
  • Researches and addresses broad educational issues impacting our state, nation, and world.

Private support ensures that the National Council of Teachers of English maintains its leadership role in the language arts arena.  Private support makes a difference!
