ABOUT GIVING
The Origin of the NCTE Fund
The NCTE Fund was established in the 1980s to seek contributions in order to support and advance initiatives that expand opportunities for the teaching and learning of language arts.
Areas of giving include pledges, contributions, gifts in honor of living persons, memorials and bequests. The Fund supports the diverse and continuous needs of the Council. Therefore, fundraising must be ongoing and must depend upon the yearly generosity of NCTE membership and friends of the Council. Contributions are accepted at any time of the year and can be mailed to NCTE Headquarters. In addition, the NCTE Fund wishes to serve its membership by offering avenues for continuing their commitment and sustaining their legacy to the profession.
Joanne Yatvin, NCTE Fund Chair
NCTE is pleased to welcome Past President Joan Yatvin as chair of NCTE charitable activities for 2007. Past President Yatvin will play a central role in matters relating to NCTE's philanthropic efforts and brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to development efforts.
